too close for comfort

took a road trip two car caravan to sierra vista
to visit old friends of the family and play a little golf
in some presumably pleasant temperatures
brianna austin and cate playing on a dinosaur sculpture at a mcdonald's
on the outskirts of benson
shortly afterward it started to rain
and I mean RAIN
it is nice to know that there are places where the monsoon is more than a myth

after a delicious lunch - thanks dennis debbie matt and monica!
we drove down to naco which is right smack dab on the border
you can prolly see mexico in the background of this shot

what a beautiful golf course
and what an incredibly difficult first hole
as fate would have it the course was flooded and closed

general pershing's barracks in naco
were they from the mexican/american war or the the revolucion?
I don't recall - cool historic place nevertheless

we ended up here
view from the tee box - hole #1
mountain view g.c. at ft huachuca
an absolutely glorious goat track

I can't wait to play it again

see what I mean
twas a lovely afternoon
I never even broke a sweat though my ball striking was far from sharp

ready to wrock
this ball prolly ended up in the rough or heavy rough
of which there was plenty

a very enjoyable though long outing
